The Showrunner is responsible for the show: this includes every person, property, and production. The basic responsibilities of The Showrunner are completing production, and the welfare of the people involved. Safety is uppermost before production. Any participant at the show acts as a Safety Officer, and has the authorization to stop the show upon witnessing any unsafe occurrence that can cause harm to anyone’s Life, the Community, or the Environment, yet full responsibility falls on The Showrunner. Any casualty, unlawful act, damage to property, and/or environmental contamination is at fault of The Showrunner without cause due to a lack of preparation, negligence, and/or competence in contempt so that these occurrences may cease to continue, and confidence may be restored to the People. Ignorance is not justification.
The Showrunner is the Decision Maker, and is not necessarily the producer, or headlining talent, yet any individual, organization, or entity that contributes any monetary means, barters, or any “quid pro quo” exchanges in support of the show may be held accountable for occurrences leading, during, and after production. No one should feel fearful for their life, or that their safety is compromised when attending a production, or leisure gathering. It is imperative to clearly identify The Showrunner of each production, train and appoint a Safety Committee, and prepare documented contingencies for Emergency Evacuations, Crowd Surges, and Risk Management Preventive Measures to counter, and minimize liabilities.
The Showrunner will draft an After Action Report to the Municipal, City, and County of any discrepancies, successes, and anything that required immediate attention during the show. This Report details what was planned for production, the actual occurrences, what worked well [with accreditations], and what can be improved upon [with a list of possible solutions] in order to correct, and consider for future productions. This will build each project better than before, while avoiding to recommit the same mistakes.
The Showrunner is responsible to improve every production promoting a controlled, safe space to create. Preventative planning, accountability, and resourcefulness are key factors in showrunning. Being present, proficient, and diligent are the qualities required to lead a show to the Production Promise Land.
The Showrunner is the Leader as the show is to the lead. The responsibility of The Showrunner is to be approachable and respond, making eye contact with ALL parties involved, with “I am here. I did my best.” Show satisfactory, commentary, or reprimand is placed solely on the one running the show, and is in great reflection of the Leadership, and will be acknowledged. The character of The Showrunner is Courage backed by Integrity, and the Grace of God.
All the energy, resources, and residuals are channeled by The Showrunner; therefore, Faith, Trust, and Expectancy is morally bestowed upon The Showrunner’s Tautology.
